Fun Rating:8 Stars (8 / 10)
Action:8 Stars (8 / 10)

I have really like what Disney has been doing with their live action remakes! With the exception of Alice In Wonderland, which I found a little weird, I have really enjoyed them.

Cinderella is no different. Lily James, who plays Cinderella, was a very good casting choice. I always enjoy Cate Blanchett, who plays her Step-Mother, and Richard Madden, aka as Robb Stark, was great as the Prince. The rest of the supporting cast was very good, especially Stellan Skarsgard and Helena Bonham Carter, I always enjoy both of them.

There were a few things that I found off in this retelling, but it was a very good story. The setup in the begging where she is actually with her mother and father was very good, but I just don’t remember that being in other versions. I always wondered why she never left home when everyone was mean to her, the explanation of her promise to her parent to “always love the house and take care of it” was great!

Overall I really enjoyed this movie and I can’t wait to see the live action Beauty and the Beast!

Mom’s Night Out

Unfortunately the first movie I will review is “Mom’s Night Out”.

As it was just pointed out to me, it was about a Mom creating a blog, so it’s kind of ironic I guess.

While there were parts of the Movie that were funny, it really wasn’t very good. It was filled with jokes and situations that have appeared in numerous movies throughout the years and Sean Austin seemed a little out of place as the timid dad, especially after I just got done watching him in “Cabin Fever: Patient Zero” which was just horrible. Trace Adkins plays a nice part as the biker with the big heart and Patricia Heaton from “Everybody Loves Raymond” is ok as a Preacher’s wife.

It’s a nice movie about a Mom trying to juggle kids and a life which I’m sure everyone can relate too, but If you have to time to waste on this move I would suggest taking her out to dinner instead!

While I was a little skeptical I usually enjoy John Favreau and the supporting cast are some favorites too. Robert Downey Jr, John Leguizamo, Scarlett Johansson and Sofia Vergara all play part that they are well suited for and the kid, played by Emjay Anthonty was a perfect fit.

Favreau also directs this movie, which I think he does a great job capturing the busy hustle and bustle of the “kitchen” life of restaurants. While parts of the movie are very predictable, he does a very good job showing how it is possible, no matter what your age is, to recapture both love for what you do for a living and for your family.

If you are looking for a feel good movie to watch with the family, I would suggest Chef, especially if you are a fan of Favreau!

If you ARE a fan of Favreau I would also suggest Very Bad Things, maybe I will watch it again soon and review it, but check it out!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Fun Rating:8 Stars (8 / 10)
Action:8 Stars (8 / 10)

Anyone that knows me, knows I LOVE comic book movies! Even though I am primarily a DC fan, Marvel puts out some great movies!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is probably in my top 5 of the Marvel movies and in my top 10 of comic book movies. Maybe I will make a list in the near future. One of the main things I judge movies on is how much I enjoyed watching it. Let me just say, I really enjoyed watching this movie! Its non stop action from the beginning, and while some of the parts drag on a little bit, all in all its a fun movie to watch!

If you are watching Agents of Shield on ABC I hope you got to see this first because you will be a little lost at the end of Season 1 if you didn’t. Sam Jackson is getting a little old as Nick Fury (I don’t mean his age) and I think its time to go a different direction. The dynami c between Cap and The Winter Soldier could of been explored a little more but I have a feeling that we will get more in Cap 3. I didn’t really like the Falcon character, but again I’m not a huge Marvel fan so maybe I just didn’t know enough about him.

Chris Evans is GREAT as Captain America, definitely better than Johnny Storm! As usual Marvel does a great job with effects, I only wish these effects were around when I was younger, although there is something to be said for the practical effects of Star Wars!

So, watch Captain America: Winter Soldier, but you should probably watch Captain America: The First Avenger first!
