After the dreadful and unintentional conclusion in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation the franchise in live action lay dormant for nearly 20 years. That is until the Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series. Aiming to be a gritty reboot of the franchise as a web series it reintroduces the characters of Sub Zero, Scorpion, Jax, Sonya, Liu Kang, Johnny Cage and others but it’s world but also absolutely not.
