In 2011 it was about time for another Planet of the Apes reboot. This time around it acted as a reboot/retelling of how the ape uprising began, chronicling the early days of a virus which simultaneously make primates intelligent whilst wiping out humankind. It also followed Caesar, as play by performance capture kind Andy Serkis from infancy till death and how he navigated a battle again man whilst dealing with turmoil from within his own ranks.
