It’s impossible to list all the visual design elements, tropes and world building influence that Blade Runner had on popular culture upon its initial release in 1982. Despite bombing in a most spectacular fashion, Ridley Scott managed to literally redefine the future of sci fi despite the atrocious Harrison Ford/Rick Deckard voice over. Here we look at the definitive version from 2007 that restores original scenes, removes others, including said voice over, and changes the ending in a manner that completely alters the meaning of the entire film.
